  • Prof Aali Sheen qualified in medicine from the University of Dundee in 1993. Mr Sheen became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 1998 (FRCS), obtaining a Doctorate in 2003 from the University of Manchester (M.D.) followed by his final specialist fellowship from the Intercollegiate board in General Surgery in 2005 (FRCS Gen Surg). Prof Sheen undertook training in General Surgery in London, Oxford and Manchester following which he undertook specialised HepatoPancreato-Biliary (Liver, Pancreas and Gallbladder) training in both Manchester and Leeds. He also undertook specialist hernia surgery training in Sweden.
