This discussion will include the important roles biomaterials, patient selection, optimization and surgical technique have in the pursuit of achieving optimal patient outcomes for abdominal wall reconstruction. He will also share the clinical experiences and new long-term data that are critical to the decision making he utilizes in continually improving the treatment he provides his patients.
Dr. Jorge de Amorim Filho will be discussing his transition from laparoscopic to open surgery to his adoption of robotics for ventral hernia repairs. His preferred procedure is now robotic eTEP; he will discuss key intraoperative objectives and steps as well as hernia protocol and mesh choice. His talk will end with the cost of complications and a summary of clinical evidence along with his facility’s own data and cost savings.
