Dr. Artz works with Arizona Community Specialists in private practice in Tucson, AZ and specializes in robotic ventral and inguinal hernia repairs as well as gallbladders and breast. Dr. Artz attended the University of San Diego, double majored in Chemistry and Spanish while playing NCAA division 1 women’s soccer. She has a Master’s in chemistry from Arizona State University in photosynthesis research before attending the University of Arizona for her Doctor in Medicine. She did an internship in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Banner Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona before her residency in general surgery at Scott & White Hospital with Texas A & M University. Dr. Artz is Associate Clinical professor at the University of Arizona teaching medical students, residents, college and high school students. She also enjoys medical missions to Bolivia, Honduras, and the Dominican Republic offering surgery and procedures pro-bono. Dr. Artz is a member of multiple medical and surgical organizations. Awards include Teaching awards to Top Doctor and Surgeon of the Year. She enjoys spending time with her husband of 19 years, who is an orthopedic surgeon, and their two wonderful children Austin and Scarlett.
